Community Complex_____________________________________

Multi-Purpose Room (18’x43’)

North Shore Hall________________________________________

Main Hall (40’x59’)

• Great for large or small meetings, birthday parties, wedding receptions and family gatherings.
• Holds up to 190 persons
• Hardwood gymnasium floor
• 8’ tables and folding chairs
• Full kitchen and dishes available

Aquatic Facilities

The Nelson and District Community Complex houses an indoor aquatic centre consisting of:

• 25 metre 6-lane pool
• shallow teaching pool
• brand new leisure pool with lazy river, bubbles, waterfall and spray
• 1 and 3 metre diving boards
• indoor waterslide
• hot tub, sauna, steam room
• viewing area
• brand new women’s, men’s and family change rooms

Activities at the pool include:

• Red Cross Swim Kids swimming lessons
• Aquafit
• Nelson Neptunes Swim Club
• Nelson Reflections Synchronized Swim Club
• Masters Swim
• Public Swim/Lap swim/Adult Swim
• Adapted Aquatics

Fitness Facilities

The newly renovated fitness centre offers approximately 5000 square feet of space to accommodate:

• free weights and weight machines
• cardio equipment
• stretching area
• fitness studio
• fitness classes

Arena Facilities

The multi-purpose arena is a 1200 seat arena with an NHL size ice surface, 6 dressing rooms (2 unisex), referee room and concession. The Complex is home to the KIJHL Junior B Nelson Leafs.

• The arena will hold 1500 persons for ice/dry floor events and approximately 2300 for concerts.
• Ice Season is from mid July – May long weekend.
• Dry floor available for conventions, exhibitions, trade shows, etc. – check available dates with our Facility Clerk. 

Park Facilities

Bonnington Park - gazebo, children’s playground, sports field, sports court, walking trail, washrooms, picnic tables, parking.

Taghum Beach Park - river swimming, beach, benches, picnic tables, barbeques, outdoor washrooms, parking

Cottonwood Lake Park - lake, ice fishing, beach, picnic tables, fire places, shelter, cabin, outdoor washrooms, parking

James Johnstone Park - Lakeside swimming, picnic tables, fireplaces, outdoor washrooms, parking on road, steep walk down to beach

Sunshine Bay Park - ball diamonds and horseshoes, soccer field and beach, picnic tables and washrooms

There are also many City Parks in Nelson that offer beautiful settings for weddings, family gatherings and picnics in addition to sports fields, baseball diamonds, playgrounds and a beach. Please contact our Facility Clerk to enquire about booking these facilities.
