Building Plan Submission

Two sets of detailed building plans are to be provided at the time of Building Permit application. Without these, the application can not be processed and a permit will not be obtained.  Building Plans should be professionally prepared to ensure adequate attention to detail. A good set of plans will save time, aggravation and money.

Building Plans Must Include:

Floor Plans of each floor

  • structural details of foundations, walls, floor and roof framing
  • drawn to scale (1/4” to 1’) and dimensioned
  • showing all rooms with size and use detailed
  • size and location of all windows and doors
  • location of all plumbing fixtures
  • location of all chimneys and heating appliances

Cross Section

  • detailing method of construction and material details for walls, floors and roof
    drawn to scale (usually ¼” to 1’)

Elevations

  • frontal view of all walls (exposing building faces)
  • showing building height and finished grades
  • detailing exterior finishes
  • drawn to scale (usually ¼” to 1’)
